The Equipping of the Local Church

Ephesians 4:8-16

I. Jesus IS filling all things with his presence, authority, and glory through the church.

II. Jesus gives pastors to local churches as gifts to equip US for the work of ministry and to build US up in Christlike maturity.

III. Our role as church members is to apply the biblical truths that the pastor teaches us to our own lives so that we grow in Christlike maturity and to actually DO the work of ministry.

IV. We function in the world as the body of Christ with Christ as the head.
